Butchoff Antiques

Butchoff Antiques is a family business first established in 1964, specialising in 18th- and 19th-century English and Continental furniture, mirrors and related objects. Located on Kensington Church Street, famous for its antique shops, their extensive showrooms on three floors amount to over 3,000 square feet of fine antiques.

They particularly specialise in pieces from the great 19th-century exhibitions of art and industry, and well-known cabinet makers of the period, including Holland & Sons, Wright & Mansfield, Jackson & Graham and Gillow of London & Lancaster. They have sold to dealers, decorators, private clients and museums worldwide.

The business is run by Ian Butchoff, who learnt his trade initially from his father, David, a silver dealer. He traded from a number of premises before moving to Kensington Church Street and today Ian is acknowledged as one of this country’s leading specialists in exhibition quality 19th century furniture. Ian regularly serves on the furniture vetting committee at the Olympia, BADA and LAPADA Fairs.

Ian’s nephews Adam and James Kaye joined their uncle in the family business in 1995 and 2003 respectively and Adam serves on the furniture vetting committee at The Harrogate Antique Fair.

Butchoff Antiques offers a bespoke service to help clients build a collection and also provide advice on restoration, shipping, hanging and installation requirements.
