Initially, the brothers began collaborating in the Latin American Art circles of New York. It is on this rich diverse art scene that both recognize the category of Pre-Columbian Art as an important and legitimate art form. The unique visual experience of their Latin American background and passion for art connected strongly with this often-undervalued art form. Acquiring every important publication on the subject, traveling through major museum collections and educating themselves in the diverse cultural background of the Americas before the European contact galvanized in an impressive collection of Pre-Columbian art. However, they recognized the main purpose of building this collection would be to share this knowledge with the public and create a new generation of collectors and enthusiasts in this category.

In 2008 Prehispanico was established to educate professionals in the fields of art, design and education as well as the general public in this category, to position artworks in new and established collections, and to provide consulting services to individuals and institutions. To this day we continue to develop relationships based on the same belief that it is a great responsibility to continue on the steps of great collectors and dealers before us to preserve this great art form for future generations.
