Atelier specialise in works depicting the Channel Islands, early views of the river Thames, with a special emphasis on the London Docklands, and marine paintings in general. A strong marine theme is usually balanced by a number of landscape, figurative and still life paintings. Many of the landscapes depict locations in the British Isles.
Before setting up Atelier Jonathan was a curator at the Victoria and Albert Museum and Head of Apsley House, the Wellington Museum, on Hyde Park Corner in London.
