Bentley & Skinner

Bentley & Skinner

Bentley & Skinner have between them been buying and selling jewellery for over 180 years, specialising in fine antique jewels, Fabergé and silver.

Bentley & Co was first established at No 65 New Bond Street in 1934. For over 50 years the company was under the sole direction of the present director's late uncle, John Sheldon, a connoisseur of Russian descent whose magnificent collection of jewels created world-wide interest when sold through Sotheby's in 1985.

Skinner & Co was established in 1880 and has been in the same family for three generations. The company was first invited to supply jewellery to the Royal Family in the latter years of Queen Victoria's reign.

Under the leadership of its existing Managing Director, Mark Evans, this family business recently moved from its premises in the Burlington Arcade to a large shop in Piccadilly, offering clients an excellent opportunity to view the displays of their wide range of stock, from art deco brooches to Victorian diamond necklaces.

The company also carries out insurance and probate valuations. Other services include repairs, the re-modelling of old jewellery, pearl-stringing, engraving and bespoke jewellery commissions - a famous example being Damien Hirst's diamond skull 'For the Love of God'. They are also happy to offer on the part-exchange or purchase of jewellery and silver.

Bentley & Skinner have the distinction of holding royal warrants to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales.
