W Agnew & Company Ltd
William Agnew started his career in sculpture working for Thomas Howard Sneyd, a private dealer in Mount Street in 1974. In 1976 he moved to Christies to run the Works of Art Department under Paul Whitfield.
Then, in 1979, encouraged by his uncle Sir Geoffrey Agnew he joined the family business Agnew's in Bond Street, creating a new department in sculpture. At the end of 1994 William left and created W Agnew & Company Ltd.
The company specialising in European Sculpture and works of art, Pottery and Maiolica, Limoges enamels, French and Italian porcelain sculpture, and British and American sculpture from the Medieval period to the First World War.
William is also an independent assessor for the Department of Culture, Media and Sport and is on the vetting committees of The British Antique Dealers' Association Fair, the Lapada fair, Berkeley Square London, Masterpiece London Fair and the Olympia Fairs.
The Company also sells to and advises Museums and collectors around the world.
