Gallery Cahn was founded in 1999 and continues a proud family tradition that reaches back for over 150 years. The gallery is directed by Classical Archaeologist Jean-David Cahn, who is the fourth generation of his family in art dealing, alongside an expert international team of PhD archaeologists. The extensive repertoire of artwork includes sculpture and figurines, black and red-figure vases, glass, jewellery and coins. The gallery specializes in Ancient Greek and Roman art, with a particular emphasis on sculpture and vases. Cahn AG participates in annual international art fairs, including TEFAF Maastricht, TEFAF New York, La Biennale Paris and Frieze Masters London. Our clientele include many private collectors worldwide, as well as renowned international museums. A selection of pieces are on display in our gallery in Basel, Malzgasse 23. The gallery organizes a variety of thematic exhibitions throughout the year, such as Animals and Hybrids in Antiquity, participates in Antike in Basel, and works in conjunction with contemporary artists presented at Art Basel. The gallery prides itself on professionalism and expertise. We produce a quarterly publication about our artwork and relevant discussions, with contributions from numerous scholars, field archaeologists, and policy makers, and we support and participate in international seminars on archaeology and antiquity.
