Baraset House Fine Art

Baraset House Fine Art

Extraordinary works of art, porcelain, furniture & decorative objects. Specialists in 17th-century Japanese porcelain, Old Master paintings, and 17th- to 20th-century fine & decorative arts. We serve an international clientele of private collectors, corporate collections, interior designers and museums.

Established during the reign of George III, Baraset House remained the country seat of The Hardings of Baraset for generations. Under the direction of fine & decorative arts expert Emily Davies-Cohen since 1997, Baraset House Fine Art Gallery has been sourcing extraordinary works of art, porcelain, furniture and decorative objects from collections around the world. These pieces are chosen for their outstanding provenance as well as for their rarity and fineness, resulting in a collection rich in both historical importance and decorative appeal.

A descendant of the original owner of Baraset House near Stratford-upon-Avon, Ms. Davies-Cohen holds top degrees in the field of Art and Antiques, including a Master of Fine & Decorative Arts with Distinction awarded by Sotheby's London and the University of Manchester. Ms. Davies-Cohen has curated major international collections of fine and decorative arts, and has worked with leading auction houses, private collectors and museums across Europe and in North America.

Ms. Davies-Cohen acted as Curator for The Macdonald Collection of Japanese Porcelain at The Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art (Toronto). The Macdonald Collection is one of the great specialized collections at the Gardiner Museum, and one of the finest in North America.

Ms. Davies-Cohen is President of The Canadian Antique Dealers Association (CADA) and the CINOA liaison for CADA.
